Job summary

Lake Cable, LLC in Illinois is seeking a bilingual Safety Coordinator to drive OSHA-aligned safety programs in a manufacturing setting. The role partners with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership to reduce risk and improve safety standards.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, and OSHA knowledge. OSHA 30 and related certifications are a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position in Bensenville, IL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, safety training, and incident investigations.
• OSHA 30 and professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CHST, etc.) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support facility safety programs to ensure OSHA compliance and workplace safety.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, revise, and maintain safety policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
• Create and implement new safety processes, guidance, and best practices that drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with operations and engineering teams to develop engineering controls and innovative solutions that eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.
• Conduct employee safety orientations, training programs, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives.
• Track safety metrics, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
• Support emergency preparedness activities and participate in safety committees and improvement projects.
• Performs PPE inspections when applicable and maintain log with inspection dates
• Performs clerical duties related to the Safety department including but not limited to completing inspection logs, training certificates, forms (disciplinary action for safety violations), etc.
• Drafts and submits reports and work orders related to health and safety operations
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
