Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s EFNEP program seeks a Nutrition Education Associate in Fort Worth, TX. The role teaches nutrition and related topics to low-income adults and youth, in-person or virtually, using approved curricula and culturally appropriate methods.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and about six months of related experience working with youth or adults. Travel within the county and occasional evenings/weekends are expected. Bilingual ability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Proficient computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams for virtual lessons.
• Ability to communicate effectively with adults and/or youth.
• Ability to follow a curriculum and speak publicly.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Recruits adults and/or youth who meet program guidelines.
• Uses research-based materials to instruct youth and/or adults in-person and/or virtually.
• Prepares food for recipes and demonstrates techniques.
• Collects and tracks program data.
• Mentors and trains Nutrition Education Assistants when needed.
