Job summary

Family & Children’s Agency in Norwalk, CT seeks a Bilingual MST Clinician to join a hybrid team. You will provide intensive, evidence-based therapy to a small caseload of 5 families over 3–5 months, with duties including assessments, family sessions, and safety planning.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English is required.
• LMSW or related licensure within 120 days of hire if not already obtained.
• At least one year of post-graduate experience. Familiarity with MST, DBT, CBT; understanding of child development and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Assessments: Conduct initial assessments and identify family participants and risk factors.
• Family Therapy Sessions: Provide ongoing family therapy at least weekly based on clinical needs.
• Model-Adherent Interventions: Deliver interventions aligned with MST and FC model for youth and family.
• Documentation: Maintain timely documentation in Care4 and other EHR systems, including crisis plans and session summaries.
• Engagement Monitoring: Track engagement and address barriers with supervisor and stakeholders.
• Risk Assessments and Safety Planning: Perform model-specific risk assessments and craft safety plans.
• Stakeholder Communication: Inform relevant parties of elevated risks and attend family court appearances.

As an MST Clinician, you will provide direct, intensive clinical services to a small caseload of 5 families at a time, offering therapy multiple times per week for a duration of 3-5 months per case. You will implement evidence-based interventions aimed at improving family dynamics, school attendance and performance, substance use reduction, and overall interpersonal connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Assessments: Conduct comprehensive initial assessments, identifying key family participants, protective and risk factors, and developing relational analyses to guide treatment.
• Family Therapy Sessions: Provide ongoing family therapy, at least once a week, adjusting the frequency based on the clinical needs of the youth and family.
• Model-Adherent Interventions: Address clinical needs through interventions aligned with the FFT FC model, supporting the youth and family’s long-term stability.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Care4 and other required electronic health record systems, including crisis management plans, safety planning, and session summaries.
• Engagement Monitoring: Continuously assess engagement levels of family members and collaborate with the supervisor and other stakeholders to overcome barriers to participation.
• Risk Assessments and Safety Planning: Conduct model-specific and foster care-adherent risk assessments for each family, developing tailored safety plans and interventions to reduce risks and strengthen protective factors.
• Stakeholder Communication: Keep all relevant parties informed of elevated risks and attend family court appearances and Administrative Case Reviews.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related clinical field.
• Language:Bilingual inSpanish/English is required
• Licensure: LMSW (or related licensure) within 120 days of hire if not already obtained.
• Experience:At least one year of post-graduate experience.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as MST, DBT, and CBT. Understanding of child development, trauma reactions, and the impact of complex trauma on youth.

• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for regional and statewide travel.
