Job summary

VIPCARE is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a patient-centered clinic focused on Medicare Advantage and value-based care. Under supervision, you will assist providers, perform tests, document patient encounters, and help coordinate care with front-office operations.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion, CPR certification, and excellent patient service skills. Bilingual Spanish is required, and experience with EMRs is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent certification).
• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, outpatient, or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines.
• IV Therapy certification preferred where permitted by state regulations.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for provider examinations by collecting history and vital information.
• Measure and document vital signs and clinical observations.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Explain instructions and follow-up care to patients.
• Administer medications and perform CLIA-waived tests as directed.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and coordinate care with front office tasks.
