Job summary

Harmony Healthcare Long Island is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers across our Nassau County clinics. The role involves preparing patients, assisting with examinations, taking vital signs, and coordinating with lab and nursing staff.

The position requires a Medical Assistant Certification, CPR, and bilingual abilities in English and Spanish/Creole. Shifts are Monday–Friday 8 AM–4 PM with one evening per week and rotating Saturdays; the organization offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification.
• Two years of experience working in the health care field.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole required.
• Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, with one evening shift 12 PM to 8 PM and one rotating Saturday each month.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient preparation prior to visits.
• Assists practitioners with patient care during examinations and materials preparation.
• Acts as translator for patients as needed.
• Takes vital signs and performs routine tests and specimen collection.
• Performs EKG and basic lab procedures.
• Distributes lab reports to practitioners for review.
• Provides patient counseling regarding procedures and tests.
• Maintains inventories and stocking in exam rooms and labs.
• Keeps required data logs and acts as patient advocate.
