Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant I for a Multispecialty clinic in Jackson Heights, NY. This full-time daytime role supports physicians with patient care and administrative duties to deliver quality care.

The position requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish and completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program, with BLS from AHA. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred, and 1-2 years experience is welcome.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant certificate program from an approved school.
• BLS from AHA certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical office support to supervising physician and assist with patient care.
• Assist with exam/procedures, take vital signs, and relay instructions to patients/families.
• Enter orders into EMR and process prescription refill requests.
• Inventory, restock, and prepare exam rooms and instruments.
• Maintain sterilization standards and infection control procedures.
• Assist with scheduling surgeries/procedures and pre-admissions as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy duties as required.
• Assist with scheduling and registration of patients and updating demographics.
