Job summary

Bryten is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Tampa community. You will perform maintenance and make-ready tasks, ensure safety, and deliver exceptional service to residents.

The role requires knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems, with on-call rotations and on-site work. HVAC certification and bilingual abilities are preferred, with a focus on quality workmanship and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment maintenance or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting and general maintenance practices.
• HVAC certification preferred; additional industry certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Basic computer and mobile technology skills for work order management systems and communication platforms.
• Experience with property management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and maintenance work orders promptly and professionally.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and other building systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment, buildings, and common areas.
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents and complete make-ready procedures.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, amenities, and equipment for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Assist with emergency maintenance and on-call rotations.
• Maintain curb appeal through upkeep of grounds and amenities.
• Maintain records of work orders, inspections, inventory, and maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment levels.
• Support capital improvement projects as needed.
• Promote a positive, safe, and welcoming community environment.
