Job summary

Methodist Healthcare Ministries in Texas is seeking a bilingual Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our health clinic team. The LVN will support physicians and staff, perform procedures such as phlebotomy and IV therapy, document accurately, and translate between English and Spanish to aid communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited LVN program.
• Licensed by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as an LVN; BLS cert required.
• 1 year of hospital/clinical experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Clinical Intake – documents patient chief complaints using medical terminology.
• Provide Direct Patient Care – prepares patients, administers meds/treatments per provider.
• Patient & Family Education – offers education on conditions and ongoing care.
• Medical Documentation – maintains accurate records and assists with recordkeeping.
• Clinical Procedures & Lab Work – phlebotomy, IV therapy, glucose monitoring, labs.
• Communication & Coordination – assists translation and coordinates with staff.
• Compliance & Reporting – reports STDs per state guidelines; quality assurance.
• Clinic Maintenance – keeps supplies stocked and environment clean.
• Safety & Protocol Adherence – follows lab safety and equipment maintenance.
• Other Duties – supports clinic operations as needed.
