The Instructional Paraeducator is responsible for assisting and encouraging students to learn the specialty under the direction of a professional and to assist students in preparing their lessons for all subject areas when in the classroom, Resource Center, computer lab, etc. The position pays $19.00/hr as a starting salary for new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Diploma is required.
• HQ status: 60 college credits with a 2.0 GPA or a Para Exam with a passing score.
• Bilingual ability in Somali or Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Observe student activities, communicate rules and consequences, and monitor progress.
• Promote district rules, mission, values, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a conducive learning setting and handle related duties.
