Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a Bilingual Instructional Assistant at Academy South to support students with learning concepts, monitor progress, and provide tutoring under teacher guidance. Responsibilities

• Identify students below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
• Assist students with assignments reinforcing learning concepts.
• Monitor groups to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide re-teaching and tutoring around core instruction.
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision.
• Attend meetings and in-service trainings related to job duties.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a Bilingual Instructional Assistant at Academy South.

Days of Service: 202 Days (dependent upon start date, 192 is the maximum for the academic year)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide 're-teaching' and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.
• Associate's degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching (Preferred but not required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
