Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED – preferred.
• Bilingual required.
• Experience as supervisor preferred.
• Experience in commercial/institutional food preparation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested and uniform recipes.
• Serve food according to meal schedules and policies; promote portion control and use of leftovers.
• Store, handle and dispose food items safely and maintain a clean storage area.
• Operate tools and equipment according to safety standards; ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Use basic arithmetic to convert recipes to quantities needed for service.
• Set up serving lines and steam tables and serve meals.
• Manage waste disposal and maintain sanitary areas.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes; mop floors and keep work areas tidy.
• Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance.
• Promote teamwork and positive interaction with staff and students.
