Job summary

Boomerang Healthcare is seeking a Front Desk Medical Assistant to work on-site with physicians, assisting in patient examinations and documentation. You will record subjective information, enter data into the EMR, stock exam rooms, and support clinicians. Occasional travel to other office locations may be required.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a Medical Assistant course, BCLS with AED, and 1 year of clinical experience. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• Current BCLS with AED certificates.
• Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or SNF setting: 1 year.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation.
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Must be comfortable using Electronic Medical Record software (we will train the successful candidate to use our software).
• Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, medical professionals, and co-workers.
• Knowledge of all state and federal regulations pertaining to confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA, treatment, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to anticipate patient needs and take proactive measures to meet those needs and resolve issues (within scope of practice).
• Interested in being an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others.
• Bi‑lingual – Spanish/English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with a Physician to assist in the assessment and examination of patients.
• Record patient subjective information and concerns.
• Enter all information into the BHC EMR system.
• Periodically checks on patient welfare until Physician begins examination or procedure.
• Assists Physician in completing patient request forms.
• Performs daily exam room and stock room inspection, ensures supplies are adequate for patient care.
• Performs additional responsibilities as appropriate to the role and scope of practice.
• May be asked to travel to our other office locations to assist Physician as needed.
• Assumes other responsibilities as appropriate to the position and organizational needs.
