Job summary

Child Start Inc. is seeking a passionate Family Educator to support families with children aged 0-3 through home visits, education, and connecting them to community resources in Wichita, KS.

This role includes flexible scheduling with evenings and up to 40 hours per week, a focus on family well-being, and a commitment to using research-backed curricula and strong parent collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Family Development or Early Childhood with nine hours of coursework.
• Less than twelve months of experience with infants or toddlers.
• Office and computer knowledge required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly home visits, building stable relationships and support structures with families.
• Respond to family-identified needs and help access community resources.
• Partner with families in goal-setting to advance family well-being.
• Develop age-appropriate and individualized lesson plans using curricula and parent input.
• Ensure families are connected to preventative health care and vaccination schedules.
• Support pregnant parents through their journey and beyond.
• Maintain high-quality documentation of interactions with families.
• Plan and participate in center PLAY Groups to support Socialization and family involvement.
• Attend trainings and meetings to advance professional skills and team cohesion.
