Job summary

Midland Rape Crisis and Children's Advocacy Center in Midland, TX seeks a Family Advocate to provide victim advocacy and support services to children and adults affected by abuse.

Under supervision of the Family Advocacy Program Director, you will coordinate referrals, perform case management, participate in 24-hour on-call rotations, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across Midland, Andrews, and Big Spring. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor's or associate degree in social work, psychology, or criminal justice.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
  • Experience in victim advocacy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide victim advocacy and support services to children or adults with disabilities who are alleged victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers.
  • Assess needs, provide referrals, and follow up within established protocols.
  • Provide comprehensive case management throughout the life of the case.
  • Educate clients about rights and assist with compensation forms.
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation for emergency after-hours services in Midland, Andrews, and Howard counties.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, CPS, hospitals, and other partners; testify when subpoenaed.
  • Document case information and outcomes in tracking systems; maintain continuing education.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and coordinate with staff and community partners.
