Job summary

Firefly Children and Family Alliance is seeking an Eligibility Specialist in Indianapolis. This contractor role focuses on determining eligibility for childcare vouchers and recertification support for low-income families aiming to help them work or attend training programs.

The position requires bilingual abilities (Spanish and/or Creole) in addition to English, with the minimum compensation for bilingual employees starting at 19.51.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in greeting and interviewing a diverse population.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with valid insurance and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Childcare Voucher Eligibility Determination: interview families, collect documents, determine eligibility.
• Complete intakes for Childcare Voucher program, calculate co-pay and subsidy levels.
• Explain program rights and responsibilities to families.
• Analyze family needs for special circumstances that require additional assistance.
• Maintain wait-list procedures.
• Recertification Support: evaluate opportunities with other sites, connect families with resources.
• Assist families in selecting appropriate providers and maintain records on progress.
