Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Valid Illinois teaching licensure appropriate for the position, with bilingual/EL endorsement preferred/required based on responsibilities.
• Strong commitment to scholar achievement and growth.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, leadership, families, and support staff.
• Ability to use data to inform instruction and make decisions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group, and/or individualized instruction to English Learners.
• Support scholars in developing academic English in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension.
• Provide language-development support within core academic content areas.
• Use assessment data to identify learning needs and adjust instruction.
• Develop and implement targeted instructional plans aligned with English language proficiency and needs.
• Collaborate with instructors to ensure appropriate supports, accommodations, and differentiated instruction.
• Monitor progress and document academic and language-growth accurately.
• Support EL programming in line with state and federal requirements.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress and goals.
• Participate in PD, coaching, team meetings, and school initiatives.
• Build relationships and foster a classroom environment of confidence and growth.
