Job summary

Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC) in Norwalk, CA, seeks a full-time Mental Health Clinician to provide individual and family therapy, complete clinical assessments, and deliver field-based outreach services to at-risk youth and families.

You will manage a caseload in outpatient settings, use evidenced-based practices such as MAP, Seeking Safety, IPT, and participate in supervision, documentation within 72 hours, and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications

• BBS registration in California
• Spanish language required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with culturally diverse clientele
• Familiar with Windows OS, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid CA driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Able to pass TB screening and two fingerprint checks
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
• MAP certification within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Conduct family-centered, strengths-based intakes/assessments in office or field
• Carry a caseload of clients (children, adolescents, adults) in outpatient setting
• Perform intake assessments and formulate diagnosis
• Use whole person/integrated care approach in assessment and treatment planning
• Assess progress and adapt interventions as needed
• Maintain timely documentation and meet DMH standards
• Provide rehabilitative services and link to community resources
• Offer coverage on-call on a rotating basis
