Job summary

Harris County Public Health is seeking a Client Service Specialist, Dental Assistant, to support dental clinic operations in a mobile team setting in Houston. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, clinic efficiency, and adherence to dental protocols.

Qualified candidates will be Texas Registered Dental Assistants with at least 6 months of experience, a Texas driver’s license, and BLS certification. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred for community outreach.

Qualifications

• Texas Registered Dental Assistant certification required.
• At least six months of dental clinical experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist dental clinic with four-handed chairside duties and vital signs.
• Record radiographs and intraoral photos; chart diagnoses in Dentrix.
• Screen calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient communications.
• Prepare operatory setups and instrument/material selection.
• Obtain patient histories and update dental charts; scan documents.
• Perform infection control and sterilization per protocols.
• Provide patient oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care.
• Support dental staff during patient visits as needed.
