Job summary

Mission Neighborhood Health Center in San Francisco seeks a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to support dentists and staff with patient care, charting, x-rays, and instrument prep. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish, a CA X-Ray license, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Dental Assistant program/license.
• 1 year of experience working as a dental assistant.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Valid California Dental X-Ray license.
• Demonstrated experience in dental assisting practices, protocols, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Collect and record patient health histories (dental and medical) and record information for dentist's reference prior to examination.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
• Take and process x-rays.
• Assist dentist chair-side by organizing and preparing instruments for dentist's use and assisting as needed during procedures.
• Advise patients in oral hygiene and dental care.
• Maintain patient records and related administrative documentation.
