Job summary

The Anne Arundel County Public Schools seeks a SPECIALIST SUPPORT: BILINGUAL to join the Community Schools program. This role works with the Community School Program Manager and the Director to connect families, especially Spanish speakers, with health, education, and community resources.

Responsibilities include recruiting participants for enrichment programs, interpreting services, translating communications, and supporting a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in related field of education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year working with families who are non-native speakers and one year interpreting experience required.
• Native or near native fluency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).

Responsibilities

• Connect students and families who are non-native English speakers with community resources and services.
• Recruit participants for programs and interpret as needed.
• Interpret for students and families during counseling sessions.
• Translate communications and recruit families to participate in community school programming.
• Collaborate with the Bilingual Facilitator to communicate effectively with non-English-speaking families.
