Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a dedicated bilingual teacher to support English language learners in assigned classrooms in Chicago. The teacher will plan instruction, administer language assessments, and monitor student progress in accordance with Illinois standards and CPS policies.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the appropriate teaching license(s).
• Illinois State Board of Education educator license with bilingual endorsement required for the grade level taught.

Responsibilities

• Plan instruction and prepare lessons aligned with objectives and CPS policies.
• Administer language assessments to evaluate students’ language ability and track progress in bilingual program.
• Maintain attendance records and student progress documentation.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Coordinate classroom activities and participate in school events and field trips as needed.
