Job summary

Wayside Waifs, Inc. is seeking a Canine Care Technician to ensure high-quality care for dogs during their stay at the CBC. The role includes daily care, enrichment, and close collaboration with CBC Trainers and volunteers to monitor health and well-being.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varying conditions, and be able to work holidays or in emergencies as essential staff. A High School diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working effectively with people and animals in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water dogs.
• Ensure shelter looks clean and smells fresh.
• Spot clean areas and deep clean kennels as needed.
• Lay blankets and provide toys to the animals.
• Enter animal information into database.
• Daily enrichment preparation.
• Communicate workload and animal status to staff on shift.
• Discuss challenges and ideas with supervisor.
