Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a Six Week Building Float Paraprofessional substitute for Minnewashta Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. This bilingual role requires fluency in both Spanish and English and supports students in multiple classroom settings.

The substitute provides guidance to students under teacher supervision, with responsibilities spanning small groups, individual support, and adaptation for diverse learners. Applications are reviewed continuously as received.

Qualifications

• Experience working with gifted/talented children.
• Spanish-speaking applicants preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and through American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Supports the lead teacher in supervising the classroom and students maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Provides instructional support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Provide assistance to specific student(s) with special needs.
• Navigator: Assist in the maintenance of individual student learning plans and scheduling of service learning projects as well as reinforcement of curricular concepts and themes taught within the classroom.
• Adapt instruction to meet the needs of the diverse learners.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt to changing classroom assignments and student support needs throughout the building.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administrator.
