Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License and Transitional Bilingual Educator endorsement.
• Elementary Education (K-9) knowledge and curriculum familiarity.
• MS Endorsement in Language Arts and Social Studies is preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and assess all curricular areas as outlined by the Board of Education.
• Deliver lessons in English or Spanish depending on grade level and language allocation.
• Apply knowledge of second language acquisition in daily instruction.
• Adapt curriculum and language level for individual students' needs.
• Maintain records and prepare reports of student progress in both languages.
• Administer ACCESS for ELLs, MAP, PARCC and other assessments as required.
• Communicate with parents in English and Spanish through conferences and other methods.
• Collaborate with grade-level and district dual language teams to develop curriculum.
