Job summary

Conroe Independent School District is seeking a bilingual 1st Grade teacher to provide language-rich instruction that bridges Spanish and English in a dynamic classroom environment. You will develop lessons aligned with the district curriculum and TEA guidelines, supporting diverse learning styles through cross-linguistic strategies.

The role requires a valid Texas teaching certificate with bilingual endorsement and the Reading Academy certificate if applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for subject/level including bilingual certification
• Valid Reading Academy certificate of completion, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum
• Provide bilingual instruction and cross-linguistic practices
• Translate or produce instructional resources for bilingual program
• Present material following TEA guidelines and district policies
• Plan and use diverse instructional strategies to meet student needs
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with special education staff on IEP adaptations
• Establish open communication with parents and staff
• Supervise classroom activities and extracurriculars as assigned
• Incorporate technology to support instruction
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Maintain student behavior per Student Code of Conduct
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development
• Complete CISD Reading Academy requirements as scheduled
• Assist in selection of instructional materials
• Contribute to virtual instruction as needed
