Interplace, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Purchasing Assistant to support their purchasing department in Hayward, California. This role involves working closely with vendors, preparing materials, and managing orders to meet customer needs. Candidates should be bilingual in English and Japanese, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience or a strong interest in the Japanese food sector.
Job Description
•Assist purchasing dept. with placing orders and inventory control
•Work with sales team to identify market trends and customer needs
•Work with vendors and suppliers to follow up on orders and requests
•Prepare POS materials such as flyers, sample packs, information sheets, etc.
•Prepare meeting topics and discussion points
•Negotiate offers, pricing, MOQs, etc with vendors
•Data entry and paperwork processing as needed
•HACCP, FSMA experience preferred
•Other duties as needed
Qualifications
•Bilingual (English, Japanese business level)
•Minimum 1 year purchasing experience or Japanese food experience
•Will train the right candidate
