Job summary

Serco North America is supporting a US Navy client by designing and maintaining Tableau-based dashboards and analytics within a remote team environment. You will translate readiness data into usable business intelligence and help deliver insights for fleet readiness across ships, aircraft, and expeditionary units.

You will collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics, manage dashboards, and publish reports while applying statistical methods to derive answers from data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, dashboards, or BI.
• Experience with Tableau dashboards, reports, and data visualization.
• Strong data modeling, data mapping, and data cleansing skills.
• Ability to work in a team in physical and virtual environments.

Job description

Serco North America is supporting a US Navy client with agile software development and lifecycle management for integrated readiness models covering Navy ships, aircraft, and selected expeditionary units. In this role, you will help translate readiness data into usable business intelligence by designing and maintaining Tableau-based dashboards and analytics within a remote team environment.

What you’ll do

• Develop, design, and maintain dashboards and analytics.
• Collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics and visualization.
• Manage and utilize dashboard platforms, mainly Tableau, to extract meaningful insights.
• Prepare reports using multiple visualization and data modeling methods.
• Collect data from different sources and normalize it for consistent reporting.
• Test, publish dashboards and reports, and schedule refreshes.
• Perform drill-down analysis and prepare reports with increased levels of detail.
• Apply algorithms and statistical methods to derive answers from data.
• Troubleshoot data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work with a team in both physical and virtual environments.
• Proficiency with analytics and database querying tools.
• Extensive experience developing and managing dashboards and reports in Tableau.
• Excellent analytical skills to forecast and predict trends and insights using historical and current data.
• Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, data mapping, data analysis, and data visualization.
• Experience presenting data through various bars/charts/models/dashboards.
• Sound knowledge of Excel, Visio, PL/SQL, ETL, and Tableau.
• Technical knowledge of Tableau Products and versions, including Tableau Server, Tableau Public, Tableau Online, and Tableau Desktop.
• Ability to build visually and interactively designed dashboards.
• Ability to manipulate and blend data to design dashboards and visualizations.Knowledge of data migration, Tableau integration, and extensions.
• Tableau and other BI tool certifications are an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of Power BI and/or Qlik is a plus.
• Experience with government databases such as ADVANA/Jupiter is a plus.

Team and project context

You will join a 24-person remote team working on modeling outputs and related products. These outputs help identify readiness requirements such as fuel, flying hours, and maintenance, and they serve as inputs to DON, DOD, Presidential, and Congressional budgets. Because the project manages multiple models and areas of analysis, team organization is divided into smaller groups with technically focused team leaders, and you will largely collaborate with team leaders and Navy clients.
