Job description

The Data Visualization Specialist will contribute compelling graphics, charts, and multimedia visuals to enhance ACR's print and digital content, primarily focused on the use of AI in Radiology based on data from registries, hospitals, and other sources.

Job Responsibilities

1. Creating and editing visual content including illustrative box plots, charts, and graphs.
2. Transforming data sets and conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals using necessary calculations.
3. Utilizing statistical software and tools to conduct data analyses and support the development of interactive reports based on the data.
4. Integrating Tableau server and reports with APIs, single sign-on, or other applications such as R or Python for predictive analytics and real-time data reporting.
5. Providing visual, technical, and editorial guidance.
6. Working closely with the application and data team to help promote content including reports, briefs, commentary, and visual data.
7. Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment while working remotely in collaboration with ACR's Data Analyst, supporting design projects ranging from charts and graphs to maps and tables.
8. Participating in defining best practices around report development, testing, access management, and report refresh scheduling.
9. Documenting various processes, workflows, and functionality.

This role requires an independent self-starter with a strong affinity for numbers and quantitative data, an interest in healthcare and healthcare data, and familiarity with visual journalism would also be helpful.

Required Skills

1. 5+ years of experience working as a BI Engineer.
2. A degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Statistics, Statistical analysis, or relevant research in the appropriate field.
3. Ability to perform complex statistical modeling independently.
4. Knowledge of Statistical Reporting is required.
5. Experience with Python.
6. Tableau certification.
7. Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, color, interaction design, and fluency with Tableau tools.
8. Knowledge of Tableau Extensions and API.
9. Advanced ability to draw insights from data and communicate them to stakeholders and senior management as required.
10. Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Data Lake, S3, Redshift, Athena).
11. Strong understanding of database schemas and querying tools.
12. Experience with SQL, Stored Procedures & writing complex queries.
13. Experience working with different Tableau platforms.
14. Experience with HIPAA-regulated data.
15. Ability to work on multiple projects and flexibility to change priorities when needed.
