Job summary

Pyramid Consulting is seeking a BI Developer with deep Tableau expertise to deliver end-to-end dashboards for a Plano, TX site. You will own design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support, ensuring high availability and scalable visualizations linked to Google BigQuery.

The role requires leadership in analytics, SQL mastery, and a focus on governance and AI-enhanced workflows. The position is onsite in Plano, TX for a 12-month contract with potential for extension,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• 5 years hands-on Tableau development experience.
• 2 years Tableau Server/Online administration experience.
• 3 years experience with Google BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouse.
• 3 years advanced SQL (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, optimization).
• 2 years designing dimensional data models.
• Experience creating mockups/wireframes for stakeholder review.
• Experience in customer care/analytics domain.
• Familiarity with GCP ecosystem.
• Knowledge of PII data handling and encryption standards.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with version control (Git) for Tableau workbooks (TabDiff, tabcmd, REST API).
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration in analytics workflows.
• Tableau Desktop Specialist or Certified Associate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end dashboard delivery from requirements gathering to deployment and post-production support.
• Tableau development and optimization of interactive dashboards and reports.
• Design and optimize data models connected to Google BigQuery.
• Develop complex calculated fields, parameters, LODs, and table calculations.
• Create reusable templates, style guides, and dashboard frameworks for consistency.
• Improve performance via efficient extracts, query tuning, and aggregation strategies.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications with stakeholders.
• Create mockups/wireframes after meetings to validate design directions.
• Tableau Site administration: server/online configuration, user access, and security.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Enforce Tableau best practices for development, naming, and documentation.
• Manage data sources, schedules, subscriptions, and alerts.
• Conduct user training and support for business users.
• Establish governance policies for content publishing and lifecycle management.
• Explore Generative AI tools to enhance analytics and visualization workflows.
• Leverage AI-assisted features for dashboard creation and natural language queries.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented BI Developer - Tableau & Apache Superset. This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Plano, TX(Onsite).

Key Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end dashboard delivery from requirements gathering , solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Tableau Development
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations connected to Google BigQuery
• Create and optimize dimensional data models for efficient reporting
• Develop complex calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, and table calculations
• Build reusable templates, style guides, and dashboard frameworks to ensure consistency
• Optimize workbook performance through efficient data extracts, query tuning, and aggregation strategies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Create mockup visualizations and wireframes after stakeholder meetings to validate requirements and design direction before full-scale development
• Tableau Site Administration
• Manage Tableau Server/Online site configuration, user access, permissions, and security
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
• Implement and enforce Tableau best practices for development, naming conventions, and documentation
• Manage data sources, schedules, subscriptions, and alert configurations
• Conduct user training and provide support to business users

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
• 5 years of hands-on experience in Tableau development
• 2 years of Tableau Server/Online administration experience
• 3 years of experience working with Google BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
• 3 years of advanced SQL programming (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, query optimization)
• 2 years of experience designing and working with dimensional data models.
