Job summary

Health Services Advisory Group, Inc. (HSAG) is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer II to design, implement, and support dashboards in Amazon QuickSight within the CMS data environment.

The role includes validating data, creating datasets, and delivering insights to QIO stakeholders. You will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and CMS personnel, with opportunities to use Tableau for other visual analytics tasks and to contribute to end-to-end ETL pipelines in SQL Server

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and maintaining visualization solutions in Amazon QuickSight
• Experience with Tableau dashboard development
• 3+ years ETL in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
• 3+ years of data warehousing experience
• Experience gathering and refining requirements and interviewing business users
• Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, and Databricks is preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as an integral member of HSAG’s Data Science & Advanced Analytics division
• Work with HSAG staff, CMS stakeholders, and customers to elicit and refine dashboard requirements
• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain Amazon QuickSight analyses and dashboards in CMS environment
• Develop intuitive QuickSight navigation, filters, calculations, and role-views
• Apply data validation and quality-control to reflect specifications
• Maintain dashboard documentation and controlled promotion of changes
• Create Tableau dashboards for other HSAG work as needed
• Design proof-of-concept BI visualizations and advanced dashboards
• Validate data sources and perform ad hoc analyses
• Develop end-to-end ETL solutions using dynamic SQL for large datasets
• Architect complex business rules in SQL to meet contract specs
• Lead data quality by developing SQL-based validation and automated corrections
• Document technical dashboards, data mappings, ETL diagrams, and guidance
• Provide advanced support for QuickSight dashboards, data access, and functionality
• Oversee UAT to ensure loads and dashboards meet requirements
• Manage dashboard and data projects lifecycle to align with schedules and security
• Collaborate with HSAG departments to support research issues
• Stay current on QuickSight and related tech and communicate advancements
• Communicate technical topics through docs, demos, and presentations
