Job summary

Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions is seeking a BI Data Engineer to drive data architecture, ETL pipelines, and a new BI platform as part of a global rollout. You will design data stores, build pipelines into a data warehouse, and optimize data flow and quality.

The role requires hands-on SQL, ETL development, data modeling, and experience with data warehouses. Travel up to 25% to Crane locations and customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of ETL development, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• 4+ years of SQL experience (No-SQL a plus).
• 4+ years of data cleansing and preparation.
• Strong understanding of data analysis and relational databases.
• Experience designing and maintaining data processing systems.
• Agile and CI/CD practices; server installations and migrations.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Create ETL routines to move and transform data into the data mart.
• Maintain and enhance data architecture within data warehouses.
• Improve data quality, reliability, and database performance.
• Utilize ETL/integration tools for system data integrations.
• Architect solutions supporting data scientists and stakeholders.
• Conduct ETL and data transformation testing.
• Develop data models for data science use cases and analytics.
• Manage documentation and data lineage; oversee end-to-end data integration lifecycle.
• Serve as SQL Server DBA: jobs, error handling, troubleshooting, scheduling.
• Translate requirements into data models and mapping designs.
• Manage data platform roadmap and ensure future-proofing and optimization.
• Collaborate with IT operations and BI vendors to resolve issues.
• Monitor usage, deprecate unused reports, and drive continuous improvement.
• Present findings to stakeholders with clear data storytelling.
