Job summary

Amerit Consulting in Bronx, NY is seeking a BI Data Analyst for a 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension. The role is hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days onsite) with a 40-hour work week and first shift hours.

The candidate will build and maintain dashboards for customer data, perform data analysis, and ensure accurate data modeling across Import/DirectQuery modes. Proficiency in SQL is required; Python experience is highly preferred.

Position: BI Data Analyst

Location: Bronx NY

Duration: 6 months+ Contract with high possibility of extension!!!

Pay rate: $29/hr

Note:

• Hybrid role. [2 Days remote (Mon, Tue) & 3 days onsite (Wed-Fri)]
• Work schedule: 40 hours/ week | 6am to 2:30pm or 7am - 3:30pm

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Education or certification requirements: Associates Degree and/or related
• Manager is targeting candidates with approximately 1-3 years of relevant experience who are eager to learn, can work independently, and demonstrate a strong self-starter mentality.
• Strong SQL experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable writing complex queries, including multi-table JOINs (INNER/LEFT), aggregations (COUNT, SUM, GROUP BY), WHERE clauses, and CASE statements.
• Candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining dashboards and reporting for customer data.
• Candidates should have a solid understanding of data modeling, relationships, measures vs. calculated fields, and be comfortable working with Import and/or DirectQuery modes.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills are required. Candidates should be able to identify data issues independently, troubleshoot root causes, and clearly communicate findings.
• Python experience is highly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable creating basic scripts to manipulate, analyze, and work with large datasets.

MUST HAVE technologies:

• Must have PowerBI (preferred) or Tableau Experience
• Proficiency in using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

MUST HAVE Critical Skills:

1. Data Analysis & Research- Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data to support business needs.
2. Advanced SQL Troubleshooting
   • Read and understand existing SQL code.
   • Investigate data discrepancies, missing records, and validation issues.
   • Reconcile record counts across joins and datasets.
3. Dashboard Development & Reporting - Build and maintain Power BI/Tableau dashboards. Translate business requirements into meaningful visualizations.
4. Problem Solving & Investigative Skills- Able to independently identify root causes of data issues and explain findings.
