Job summary

Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, CA seeks a Beverage Department Supervisor to oversee operations across Cabaret Bar, service bars, pool bars, banquet bars, and outlets on both properties. This role manages day-to-day beverage department operations and assists other Food & Beverage outlets when needed.

Responsibilities include training, hiring, scheduling, inventory, and ensuring high-quality beverage service; provides guidance during shifts and maintains compliance with policies and gaming

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year beverage experience required.
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisor experience required.
  • Customer service background with heavy guest interaction.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Overview

Full Time role at Soboba Casino, San Jacinto, CA. The Beverage Department Supervisor oversees areas including Cabaret Bar, Cabaret Service Bar, Tree Bar, Restaurant Row Service Bar, Fairway Service Bar, Pool Bar and Pool, Hotel Lobby, Elements, the entire Casino Floor, Golf Course Beverage Carts, Maze Stone Grill and Maze Stone Bar, and all Banquets & Banquet bars at both properties. The supervisor administers day-to-day beverage department operations and assists other Food & Beverage outlets when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of new ideas in guest service.
  • Service training and product enhancement.
  • Mentoring, and evaluating staff
  • Interview and hire new employees
  • Assist in training of new employees
  • Assigning and directing daily tasks
  • Overseeing deep cleaning and weekly cleaning of the various outlets
  • Supporting behind the bars or servicing drinks on the casino floor, including filling in as a bartender when needed
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Addressing complaints; resolving problems in accordance with department policies
  • Maintain cashier responsibilities including voids and other POS needs
  • Assist in taking orders or may serve food and beverage to guests as needed
  • Oversees opening and closing of each bar and checks out staff as they leave each shift
  • Conduct pre-shifts to inform team members of operations and perform uniform checks
  • Assist in covering food outlets in the absence of the manager or supervisor for that location
  • Conduct month-end inventory and regular inventory checks of all locations on both properties
  • Complete orders from vendors to ensure product arrives and maintain par levels
  • Track employee hours to ensure full-time team members work the correct hours
  • Complete department transfers and stock requests using the inventory control system
  • Conduct reviews, corrective actions, and tracking attendance
  • Operate and supervise all banquet bars for special events, including setup, cleanup, ordering, and staffing
  • Maintain banquet bar records, stock, and secure storage areas
  • Oversee removal of product from the warehouse after hours
  • Assist with timekeeping and payroll procedures
  • Complete pass-down logs and daily inventory logs
  • Maintain floor and bar rotations to ensure locations are covered as needed
  • Resolve guest service related issues in a timely manner
  • Occasionally assist at the other property to support day-to-day operations
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment necessary to outlet areas
  • Ensure clear communication between outlets and other departments
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, Gaming Commission regulations, and internal controls
  • Formulate and administer special events, menus, and promotions across outlets
  • Develop annual goals/objectives and execute plans to achieve them
  • Instruct on operation procedures, policies, and guest relations
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality products and service
  • Assist Beverage Assistant Manager and Beverage Manager as needed
  • Stay visible on shift and communicate with colleagues to keep the floor running smoothly
  • Ensure reports and certifications are current (TIPS, Riverside County Food Handlers, badge renewal)
  • Beverage supervisors may oversee Koffee Kiicha between grave hours on occasion
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
  • Follow safety and security policies; report accidents and unsafe conditions; complete safety training
  • Ensure uniform and professional appearance; protect company assets and confidentiality
  • Provide welcoming guest service and anticipate guests' needs
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals
Education / Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one (1) year beverage experience required
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisor experience required
  • Customer service background with heavy guest interaction
  • Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States
Certificates, licenses and registration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Riverside County Food Handler Certificate within seven (7) days of hire
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified, or able to obtain certification within 60 days of hire
