Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Grocery Department Associate to provide exceptional customer service in a safe, clean store environment. You will price, stock, and rotate merchandise and assist customers with wine and beer selections, following the Customer 1st Strategy.

You will maintain professionalism, resolve inquiries promptly, keep fixtures/areas clean, and ensure compliance with laws and safety guidelines. This role emphasizes shrink prevention and teamwork with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for conducting yourself in a professional manner, displaying a positive attitude, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers.
• Ensure all customer inquiries are resolved promptly and effectively in a positive and professional manner.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Maintain familiarity with foreign products names, pronunciation and meaning of applicable manner.
• Understand product location to find merchandise for customers.
• Assist with ensuring all department fixtures and equipment are properly utilized and maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness of counter, cases and coolers.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
• Make a conscious effort to prevent shrink and profit loss in the department.
• Work in compliance with all safety guidelines. Correct or identify unsafe conditions.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies and equipment malfunctions to the department manager.
• Prepare and submits seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
