Job summary

Keel is seeking a motivated candidate to perform basic beveling, grinding, and material preparation under close supervision while learning shop processes, safety standards, and equipment operation.

The role includes assisting in beveling with hand grinders, preparing materials for cutting and welding, supporting layout work, and maintaining a clean work area. Training and safety are emphasized throughout this entry-level position at Keel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0–2 years of manufacturing, welding, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic ability to read measuring tools (tape measures, calipers).
  • Familiar with blueprint readings.
  • Willingness to learn GD&T concepts.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work safely in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with beveling operations using hand grinders and basic tools.

Your Mission:

Performs basic beveling, grinding, and material preparation tasks under close supervision while learning shop processes, safety standards, and equipment operation.

Requirements:

Mission Readiness:

Travel Requirements:


  • Between facilities as needed


Physical Requirements:


  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.

  • May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
