American Veterinary Group (AVG) invites a Benefits Specialist to join our Tampa, FL team in a hybrid capacity. You will administer comprehensive benefit programs, serve as the primary contact for eligibility and enrollment questions, and partner with payroll, HR, and vendors to ensure accurate, compliant benefits management.

You will support leave-related matters, open enrollment, and communicate benefits changes to staff, while preserving HIPAA privacy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in employee benefits, HR, or related field.
• 2+ years working knowledge of health and welfare benefit programs.
• Familiarity with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125, FMLA, HSA/FSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, FSA, 401(k), COBRA and other programs.
• Explain eligibility, coverage, enrollment, deductions, and plan provisions to employees.
• Manage new hire enrollments, life events, terminations, and dependent changes.
• Coordinate with vendors, payroll, and HRIS to ensure accurate records.
• Monitor enrollment deadlines and follow up on incomplete elections.
• Assist with COBRA, FMLA, leave activities, and benefit audits.
