Job summary

P&E Constructors, LLC is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to manage day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs for a large industrial workforce. You will serve as the primary contact for enrollment, eligibility, coverage changes, and life events, coordinating with HR, payroll, carriers, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate processing with a strong focus on service.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years benefits experience, strong communication skills, and data accuracy.

P&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Position Overview

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs for a large, fast-paced industrial construction workforce. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits enrollment, eligibility, coverage changes, life events, and open enrollment activities.

The Benefits Coordinator works closely with Human Resources, payroll, benefit carriers, and employees to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit transactions while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, voluntary benefits, and retirement plans
  • Manage high-volume new hire enrollments, qualifying life event changes, terminations, and benefit status updates
  • Coordinate and support annual open enrollment activities, including employee communications, system testing, enrollment audits, and employee education sessions
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage options, claims issues, provider networks, payroll deductions, and enrollment procedures
  • Review and process benefit elections and changes for accuracy and compliance with plan requirements
  • Maintain benefit records within HRIS and benefits administration systems, ensuring data integrity and timely updates
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and resolve discrepancies
  • Work directly with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve enrollment, billing, and coverage issues
  • Conduct regular audits of enrollment data, invoices, payroll deductions, and eligibility files
  • Assist employees with qualifying life events such as marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, loss of coverage, and dependent eligibility changes
  • Prepare and distribute employee communications regarding benefit programs, enrollment deadlines, and plan changes
  • Support compliance efforts related to ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125, and other applicable regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and protected health information (PHI)
  • Assist with benefits reporting, metrics, and reconciliation activities
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance employee experience and administrative efficiency
  • Support HR team projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of benefits administration experience
  • Experience supporting large employee populations and high-volume enrollment activity preferred
  • Construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or project-based workforce experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of healthcare plans, voluntary benefits, retirement plans, and related regulations
  • Strong understanding of employee benefit administration and enrollment processes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and employee relations skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Strong problem-solving and analytics skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Compensation
  • The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role
  • Performance-based merit increases and career growth opportunities
  • Salary Range: $21.54 - $31.82 per hour
