Job description

How we work

We are on a mission to enable the future of work. We believe in being deliberate in our actions, moving fast, staying humble, and paying attention to the details.

About the Team

The HR team is growing with the fast-scaling organization and continuing to build the people infrastructure. You'll report to the Senior HR Manager and partner regularly with Finance, Legal, and HR leaders across our Dallas and Tel Aviv offices.

About the Role

We're hiring a Benefits and Compensation Manager to own benefits administration and compensation programs. This role will also be responsible for managing our transition off our current PEO and building out benefits and compensation operations in-house. This role will be focused on supporting our US programs, providing global support as needed. You'll bring structure and rigor to programs that are foundational to how we attract, pay, and support our people.

About You/Who we’re looking for

You're a benefits and compensation professional who's equally comfortable in the details of a benefits plan and the bigger picture of comp strategy. You've managed complex projects with a lot of moving parts and know how to keep them on track. You're calm under ambiguity, precise with compliance, and you communicate clearly with employees, managers, and executives alike.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the project management of Island's PEO extraction, coordinating timelines, vendors, and stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Legal
  • Partner with HR leadership on benefit and compensation program design, benchmarking, merit cycles, and comp philosophy
  • Own the administration and communication of employee benefits, 401(k), and perquisite programs, including annual benefits renewal, open enrollment, COBRA administration, and annual compliance reporting requirements
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and the PEO (and successor systems) through the transition, maintaining accurate records in HRIS and compensation systems
  • Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, state-specific leave, company leave programs, and ADA accommodations), serving as the point of contact for employees and managers from request through return to work
  • Manage worker's compensation claims and carrier relationships, coordinating return-to-work plans with managers
  • Build and maintain compensation structures including salary bands, job leveling, and pay equity, utilizing benefits and compensation data to identify trends and inform decisions
  • Support job offers, promotions, and compensation adjustments with market data and internal equity analysis
  • Ensure federal and multi-state compliance for US programs
  • Provide support on global benefits and compensation programs as needed

You might be a fit if...

  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration and compensation, with at least 3 years focused on compensation strategy or analysis
  • Experience managing a PEO transition or similar large-scale HR systems/vendor change, with strong project management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state regulatory compliance
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS, benefits administration, and compensation tools
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and comfort working with data to build salary structures and benefits cost models
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex benefits and comp concepts into plain language for employees and managers
  • A high level of discretion and judgment when handling confidential compensation and benefits information

Bonus points if...

  • Direct experience leading or supporting a PEO-to-in-house benefits/payroll transition at a high-growth startup
  • Familiarity with HiBob, TriNet, Deel, OpenComp, Radford or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting both US and international employee populations
  • Experience in a fast-paced, hyper-growth startup environment, building processes and managing shifting priorities

Physical Environment

This position requires the ability to perform sedentary work, which involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects as needed. The employee will primarily operate standard office equipment and keyboards, and may require close visual acuity for tasks like analyzing data and reading extensive text.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Medical, dental, vision
  • Company paid Life and AD&D Insurance with option to purchase additional coverage
  • Company Paid STD and LTD Insurance
  • Voluntary Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity Coverage
  • 401(k) with company contributions
