Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks seasonal Bell Ringers to support Christmas fundraising at kettle locations across the community in Michigan. You will greet donors, thank contributors, ring the bell when not speaking with patrons, and remain stationed at a Red kettle outdoors in varying weather.

We look for friendly, approachable individuals who can work independently and communicate well. The role is temporary, up to 90 days, and hours may vary with no benefits attached.

We are looking for seasonal Bell Ringers! The Bell Ringer position is a vital role in supporting The Salvation Army’s Christmas fundraising efforts by creating a warm and welcoming presence at Kettle locations throughout the community. This position helps generate donations that directly support local families in need during the Christmas Season and throughout the year.

• Remain stationed at a Red kettle in various weather conditions, dressing appropriately
• Maintain a courteous and respectful attitude with store personnel and the public

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• No experience required

Physical Demands

• Position requires standing for extended periods of time outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Appropriate break times, including meal and restroom breaks, will be provided in accordance with organizational and state guidelines

• Christmas positions are temporary, up to 90 days, and are not entitled to benefits. Hours of work may vary and are not guaranteed.
• All Christmas positions have expectations that must be met in order to qualify for work assignments and ongoing temporary employment. This includes expectations in donations received.
• The Salvation Army, as a church, is exempt from participation in federal and state unemployment insurance programs. Upon termination, employees are not eligible for Unemployment Compensation.
