Job summary

Bell Design Group is seeking a Project Manager to join our Los Angeles studio. This full-time role partners with Project Architects and design teams to drive architectural projects from concept through construction, across California and North America, with travel as needed.

The ideal candidate brings 8–10+ years of experience, a professional architecture degree, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) is required or preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of experience with at least 3+ years as a Project Manager.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Microsoft Office. BIM experience (ArchiCAD preferred) and AutoCAD strongly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of project development, including planning, contracts, design coordination, detailing, consultants, and construction administration.
  • Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables to meet client expectations and firm standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards.
  • Participate in firm-wide QAQC.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Solve complex design and technical challenges with creativity and precision.
  • Represent the studio in client meetings, presentations, and agency reviews.
  • Engage in studio culture, leadership, and continuous improvement.

We’re currently seeking a Project Manager to join our studio. This is a full-time role for a passionate individual who brings technical expertise, managerial excellence, and leadership to the table. You’ll work closely with Project Architects and design teams to lead the development of architectural projects and ensure excellence from concept through construction. Our projects are located across California and North America; there may be local and/or out-of-state travel for meetings and job site visits required. The Project Manager will also be part of the studio leadership and is expected to engage in the activities and advancement of the studio, as well as providing support, mentorship and training for junior staff.

While we are seeking Project Manager’s to work on a broad range of project types, having expertise in affordable housing or hospitality is a plus.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring
  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Architectural license preferred but not required
  • 8-10+ years of experience, with at least 3+ years as a Project Manager
    • Experience must also include carrying projects of both large and small scale from design concept through completion
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Microsoft Office. Sufficient skills with BIM (ArchiCAD preferred), AutoCAD, and other drafting software. Ajera knowledge is a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of code analysis, construction methods, engineering systems, agency processing, construction detailing, and contract administration.
