Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis company, is hiring in Nashville, TN for a guest services role focused on escorting guests, handling luggage and delivering high standards of service. You will interact with hotel guests, manage inquiries, and maintain security and appearance throughout shifts.

Role requires reading, basic writing, and the ability to work varying shifts including weekends. A valid driver's license is needed for potential company vehicle duties.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training.
  • Availability to Work: 2nd/3rd shift and weekends may be required.
  • License Requirement: Valid state-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Language skills: Ability to read, write simple correspondence and present information.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to follow standard written or oral instructions.
  • Other skills: Ability to use clock (military time) and maintain a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Escort arriving and departing guests to accommodations and assist with luggage.
  • Read luggage tags, issue claim tickets and manage guest items.
  • Accompany guests to rooms and explain room features.
  • Respond to guest inquiries quickly and courteously.
  • Flag guest feedback to management and follow up on requests.
  • Maintain a neat appearance and uniform during shifts.
  • Assist Supervisors with additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Basic Function: In this role, you will be expected to provide exceptional service to hotel guests. You will be responsible for escorting arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner to and from their accommodations, as well as transporting and handling luggage. You will be expected to maintain the highest level of customer service and use extreme care when handling guest belongings.

  • Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets and detach portion to give to guest
  • Escort customers to accommodations, visually inspect room and acquaint guests with their rooms and their room features
  • Organize and store luggage as necessary in a designated area
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests accurately and in a timely, friendly and efficient manner as it relates to all the hotel services and the local area around the hotel
  • Ensure management/leadership is made aware of any relevant feedback from guests and/or other department
  • Be on time for every scheduled work day
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance and arrive and remain in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts
  • Assist Supervisors and Managers with additional duties, as assigned
Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends may be required.

License Requirement: The individual will only be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.

Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other skills and abilities: Ability to use clock (standard/military time). Ability to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor when interacting with guests. Ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints.

The employee must be able to move in a relatively quick manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision and Ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour (+ tips)

This role is eligible to earn tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.
