Job summary

Merrimack Autism Consultants in the Greater Boston area is hiring part-time Behavioral Therapists to provide one-on-one, in-home ABA services. We welcome experienced BTs; prior experience preferred but not required.

Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided to help you build the skills needed to succeed. In-home sessions are typically scheduled between 2:00 PM and 8:30 PM, with some morning and weekend opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • 18+ with reliable transportation.
  • US work authorization.
  • Able to commit to a 6 month period.
  • CPR certification (will allow 2 week timeline after hire to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 in-home ABA services to clients with autism.
  • Collect data and conduct discrete trials to monitor progress.
  • Guide and support caregivers implementing behavior plans.
  • Communicate progress and concerns to family and supervisor.
  • Complete the 40 hour RBT training and pass the RBT exam within 90 days of hire.

Behavior Therapist Position

Merrimack Autism Consultants is hiring part-time Behavioral Therapists (BTs) to provide one-on-one, in-home ABA services. We are currently seeking candidates in the Greater Boston areas of Watertown and Somerville.

We welcome experienced Behavioral Therapists; however, prior experience is preferred but not required. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided to help you build the skills needed to succeed in the role.

In-home sessions are typically scheduled between 2:00 PM and 8:30 PM, with some morning and weekend opportunities available. Applicants should be available to work an average of 10–19 hours per week.

Behavior Therapist Responsibilities

Compensation is competitive and based on education and experience.

  • Behavior Therapists work 1:1 directly with clients with autism using individualized ABA(applied behavior analysis) techniques created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst(BCBA).
  • Provides support and guidance for the parent/caregiver implementing the behavior plan tactics for when the BT/BCBA's are not in the home.
  • The Behavior Therapist will collect data focused on skills and behaviors, conduct discrete trials daily to ensure the client's progress is monitored and objectives are met according to the individualized plan.
  • Communicate in a timely manner any concerns, progress etc to both the client's family and supervisor.
  • Complete the 40 hour Registered Behavior Technician(RBT) training, sit for and pass the RBT exam, within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • You have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have at least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • You must be 18 years old or older and have reliable, consistent transportation.
  • You are able to pass a background check and are authorized to work within the U.S
  • You are able to make a 6 month commitment to our clients
  • You are enthusiastic and passionate about working with children/adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities and are driven to help make a difference.
  • CPR certified (will allow 2 week timeline after hire to obtain)

Not Required But Preferred Qualifications

  • You have an Associate's Degree in Human Services, Education or Psychology. A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis or Social Psychology.
  • You are a Registered Behavior Technician with an active certification with the BACB and/or you have at least 6 months working with children with autism.
  • You have previous professional experience working in the human services, developmental disabilities or education fields- teachers/paraprofessional, Day Programs, Group Home caretakers.

Part-Time Position, Monday-Sunday, $19-27 per hour; salary varies on experience.
