Job summary

Broward County Public Schools at Cypress Run Education Center in Pompano Beach seeks a Behavior Technician to support students needing behavioral intervention by implementing specific plans at individual or small-group levels to ensure safety and dignity.

Responsibilities include data collection, assisting with Functional Behavior Assessments, helping develop and apply behavioral programs, and training staff in behavior management techniques. This is an hourly, nonexempt position with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or an earned Associate degree/60 credits.
• Experience with behaviorally complex children is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data in the school environment.
• Assist in data gathering for Functional Behavior Assessments.
• Assist in developing and implementing behavioral programs and plans.
• Assist staff in applying behavioral systems.
• Assist in shaping and teaching appropriate behavior.
• Monitor data and provide intervention recommendations.
• Monitor/supervise students during interventions.
• Follow district safety rules and policies.
