Job summary

A leading special needs support organization in Kentucky is seeking passionate Support Staff to work full-time with children aged 2-22 with behavioral and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting students, implementing behavior plans, and participating in classroom activities. Experience is preferred but training will be provided. Qualifications

• Experience with children with behavioral and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Willingness to participate in physical interventions when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with a variety of students to assist with behavior and help them develop skills.
• Implement programming and behavior plans to support students.
• Assist with classroom daily activities and lessons.

Skills

Ability to assist in lifts and/or physically manage students of varying sizes and weight

DailyResponsibilities:

• Workdirectlywithavarietyofstudents(behavior,learning,activitiesofdailyliving,communication,community-basedinstruction,vocationdevelopment)
• Implementprogrammingandbehaviorplansundersupervisedsupporttoincludedatacollection
• ImplementtheMarcusCrisisPreventionProceduresmodeltosupportstudentswithunwantedbehaviors
• Assistwithclassroomdailyactivitiesandlessonstohelpstudentsdevelopskillsandindependence

Requirements:

• Abilitytoassistinliftsand/orphysicallymanagestudentsofvaryingsizesandweight
• Reliabletransportation

PhysicalDemands:

• Abilitytoparticipateinphysicalinterventions,whennecessary,usingcertifiedsafetytechniques(trainingprovided).Physicalinterventionsarealastresortandtargetedtobereduced,howeverwhentheyoccur,theymayrequirephysicalexertion.Physicalrequirementsinclude,butarenotlimitedto:kneeling,lifting,bending,twisting,andholdinginaquickpacedenvironment.
