Job summary

Morning Star Boys Ranch is seeking a full-time Residential Treatment Shift Supervisor to lead direct care staff for youth ages 6-16 in a trauma-informed residential program in Spokane, WA. This role combines youth counseling, staff supervision, and behavioral health support to ensure high-quality care and compliance.

The Shift Lead will coordinate daily operations, collaborate with clinicians and educators, and provide coaching and training to staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable through company vehicle insurance.
  • Must pass Federal and State background checks including WATCH and Excluded individuals/entities search.
  • Must have valid credentials as required for the position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience working directly with children, or two years of social service education and one year of experience working directly with children, or four years of social service education may be substituted for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise direct-care staff within a trauma-informed residential treatment program serving youth ages 6-16.
  • Coordinate daily operations, staffing assignments, activities, appointments, and treatment-related services to ensure quality care and program compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, therapists, educators, case managers, and treatment teams to support individualized service plans and behavioral interventions.
  • Provide coaching, training, mentorship, and performance feedback to Behavioral Support Staff.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, medication administration oversight, and compliance with licensing, WAC, HIPAA, and agency requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment by supporting behavior management, crisis response, household operations, and youth engagement in school, treatment, and daily activities.
  • Transport youth to appointments, school, community activities, and other program-related destinations in accordance with agency policies.
  • Monitor safety concerns, incidents, and regulatory compliance while modeling professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and trauma-informed care.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and quality improvement efforts to support positive outcomes for youth and families.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Morning Star Boys' Ranch is seeking a full-time Residential Treatment Shift Supervisor to lead direct care staff serving youth ages 6-16 in our Behavioral Rehabilitation Services program in Spokane, Washington.

This leadership role combines youth counseling, staff supervision, behavioral health support, trauma-informed care, and residential treatment services. Candidates with experience in social services, behavioral health, child welfare, youth programs, residential care, direct care, or case management are encouraged to apply.

Job Summary:

The Shift Lead / Residential Treatment Shift Supervisor leads direct-care staff in a trauma-informed residential treatment program serving children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs. This position ensures regulatory compliance, staff development, behavior management implementation, safety, treatment plan support, and positive youth outcomes.
