Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation's Pathway program seeks a Behavioral Specialist to work with preteen and teenage girls and boys in a residential setting. You will provide safe, direct client care in accordance with individual client treatment plans and the program structure to which you are assigned.

The role includes guiding clients in basic living skills, supporting Group Leaders, supervising behavior, documenting activities, and reporting daily progress to the treatment team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field (e.g., Psychology or Social Work)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Drug Free

Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with guidance and instruction in the performance of basic living skills.
  • Serve as support system for Group Leaders in terms of behavioral management and service provision.
  • Provide direct supervision and management of client behavior in a consistent and equitable manner.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all client activities per policy; documentation must be legible.
  • As a member of client Treatment Teams, send daily end of shift reports regarding client daily progress.
  • Supervise and monitor clients in regard to client safety, following applicable client care policy and Planning Schedule

Pathway is a residential program for adjudicated and DHR youth, with the motto of helping today's youth find a new direction in life! We are seeking a Behavioral Specialist that will be working directly with preteen and teenage girls and boys in a residential setting. Behavioral Specialists are responsible for providing safe and effective direct client care services in accordance with individual client treatment plans and in conjunction with the structure of the treatment program to which they are assigned.

Summary of Job Responsibilities
  • Provide clients with guidance and instruction in the performance of basic living skills. These basic living skills should be more tailored to client needs and guided by the client’s individual therapist’s knowledge of client needs.
  • Serve as support system for Group Leaders in terms of behavioral management and service provision.
  • Provide direct supervision and management of client behavior in a consistent and equitable manner.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all client activities per policy; documentation must be legible.
  • As a member of client Treatment Teams, send daily end of shift reports regarding client daily progress.

Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services Field, i.e. Psychology or Social Work.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Schedule
  • 8 hour shift (Monday-Friday)
