Job summary

Western University of Health Sciences seeks an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry to teach medical students at the Lebanon, Oregon campus. The role focuses on serving as a role model physician-educator under the Chair of Behavioral Medicine, Psychiatry and Psychology, Clinical Sciences.

The position emphasizes didactic and clinical teaching, supervision, and active involvement in the interprofessional education curriculum.

Qualifications

• DO/MD degree required and board-certified in respective specialty (AOA or ABMS).
• 2-3 years' experience in Behavioral Medicine/Psychiatry/Psychology; 3+ years of student/residency clinical teaching.
• Preference for bilingual capabilities and additional advanced degrees or clinical research experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry to COMP and HCOM medical students.
• Provide clinical consultations as needed and directed.
• Participate in didactic, course director/vice director roles, and clinical education programs.
• Mentor and advise students and serve as faculty advisor to student groups.
