Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco seeks a Consultant-Liaison psychologist to evaluate and diagnose Health Plan members with mental disorders affecting medical conditions. You will develop and coordinate treatment plans, provide crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, psychoeducation groups, and case management, while collaborating with physicians for psychotropic medications and program development.

Qualifications

• PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• California Psychologist License within 6 months of hire; license in any state required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose Health Plan members with mental disorders affecting medical conditions.
• Develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate treatment plans including crisis intervention and brief psychotherapy.
• Provide psychoeducation to members and families to improve adherence to regimens.
• Co-manage medical conditions using nonpharmacologic and behavioral interventions.
• Administer and evaluate psychological tests on a limited basis.
• Collaborate with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications.
• Provide consultation and training to APC team on mental health and behavioral medicine.
• Conduct program development, evaluation and outcome assessments as needed.
• Serve as liaison and referrals to Psychiatry, Chemical Dependency Services, and Behavioral Health Education.
