Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, counseling, education, mental health or a directly related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Design behavioral interventions for students and implement behavior support plans.
• Conduct psychosocial educational group sessions.
• Thorough and timely documentation and recording of progress notes.
• Help coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plan addressing students’ inappropriate behaviors and improving academic success.
• Measure goals and objectives of behavior support plans to ensure they are met; coordinate between teachers and parents to implement interventions.
• Discuss progress with other professionals and work within an active classroom.
• Compile data on students and analyze interventions for effectiveness.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
• Provide behavioral interventions and support across academic, therapeutic, and recreational activities.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers; acknowledge and resolve complaints; prioritize patient safety.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, counseling, education, mental health or a directly related field

Purpose Statement

Responsible for assessing patients with behavior issues and working with teachers, counselors and psychologists to devise a behavior plan for the student.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Design behavioral interventions for students and implement behavior support plans.
• Conduct psychosocial educational group sessions.
• Thorough and timely documentation and recording of progress notes.
• Help coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plan that address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful.
• Measure goals and objectives of behavior support plans to ensure they are being met.Coordinate between teachers and parents to implement behavioral interventions.
• Ability to discuss with other professionals the progress of the individual and work within an active educational classroom.
• Compile data on students and analyze the behavioral interventions to determine their effectiveness.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
• Provide behavioral interventions and support to students in all aspects of their day, including academic, therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, counseling, education, mental health or a directly related field of study required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.

• Two or more years' experience working with psychiatric children/adolescence or direct services in an educational or Human Services field is preferred.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
• Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
