The Ohio Department of Youth Services is seeking a Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 to oversee facility behavioral healthcare functions and lead a team focused on habilitating youth.

The ideal candidate will hold LISW/LPCC/IMFT or psychiatric nursing credentials, provide assessments, treatment planning, and crisis intervention, and collaborate with families and community partners to foster positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Board.
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Board.
  • Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by Ohio Board.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry by Ohio Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide social work services within licensure scope: assessments, treatment planning, individual/group/family sessions, crisis intervention, discharge planning.
  • Represent social/habilitative programming on the IDT and maintain relationships with facilities and community partners.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to satisfy federal/state/local requirements and DYS policies.

Job Description

DYS is seeking a Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 to oversee facility behavioral healthcare functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background and a passion to habilitate youth.

Specifically, the Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 will:

  • Within the scope of their licensure, provide social work services, including assessments; treatment planning; individual, group, and/or family interventions/sessions; crisis intervention; liaison services (e.g. with family, regional office/juvenile parole officers, release authority, school, courts, and other community support services); discharge and aftercare planning; etc. to assigned caseload of youth offenders.
  • Consistent with policy, represent social and/or habilitative programming on the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDT). Establish and maintain working relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services. Contact parent/guardian (e.g., in emergencies, crises, transfers, etc.).
  • Access, develop, maintain, and synthesize written and/or electronic documentation to satisfy requirements of federal, state, and local agencies; and in compliance with DYS policy (e.g., progress notes, institutional and community reports pertaining to the youth’s case; etc.).

Qualifications

  • Or Licensed Registered Nurse with certificate of authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.

PRE-SERVICE TRAINING: All final candidates are required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory, paid training at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. This training is fully paid for and will cover lodging, transportation (if needed) and meals. Training takes place for 3 weeks, Monday through Thursday, 7AM to 5PM with Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays off.
